Well hello guys and gals. I have been away for a while but, hehehe Im BBAAAAAAAAaaaaaaack!! As I posted in the AGR post I am in the process of a MAJOR rebuild of my big ugly K5. I know I am going to catch some flack for the chopping that I am doing to my baby. So all of you die-hard-my-K5-should-always-look-like-a-K5-and-if-you-change-it-you-are-ruining-your-rig-type of people please understand, I don't really care, so keep your coments to yourselvs, THANX!! Ok so where was I , oh yah. For those of you that don't know me or my rig, I built an 89 K5 about 2 years ago that I have really wheeled hard. Some of the main mods have been, a Dana 60 front , Corp 14 Rear, Atlass Transfer Case, Full Liner, Serious rock sliders, rear bumper and Exoskeloten. The rig has had no doors or top on for pretty much the last two years. The truck has been very good to me and my wife out on the trails. I have only broken three times in two years and that is wheeling it very HARD very often. One of the brakes was my AGR hear box going bad, and the other two were my front stub shafts exploding.
So, what is on the agenda, well I starting with putting a new fuel tank up in the bed and removing the factory one. Then I am going to Bob the back of the rig so I have a better departure angle. Then I am going to remove the front fenders and hood and rework that whole area. I am not sure exactly what I am going to do, I just know that I want better visibility. I am going to wait to get the axles in to determine how I do the front body wise. So, the new axles are two Rockwell 2.5 fronts that I am rebuilding as we speak. I am going with a front and rear stear setup. Totally hydraulic. I am pretty sure that we are going to have to push the front axle WAY forward so that I can clear thos big ass top loading axles without ANY more lift. The I am going up to a 44" Swamper - Bogger combo. I am also building a big storage section by way of a fasle floor up front so that I can store all my crap on bored without comprimising the space my dog has!!! It is funny, my wife is letting me do all this because I told her it was the last thing I was going to do then I was done. Kind of like the axles that are in it now, or the Atlass, or the liner, or Rockram or the ExoCage!!!! HEhehehehe, it never ends does it!!! Any ways her are a few links to let you know what the truck looked like this last summer, and I will post more pics as soon as I can of the project and its progress!!!! See ya , NASH.

Sounds good Nash, you going to have it all ready for the Spring run in Disney? We may have Magazine coverage. Not sure on the date. Keep us posted on the progress.

WOW, Robbie you rig looks GREAT!!!!!! Last time I saw it it was that green and it was whole!!! You are basicaly where I am going, except I have pushed it a little farther. I went ahead and cut the outer skin off of the rear. Also, I don't think that the front fenders on mine will live through this incarnation. But again, I really like you rig. It looks great!!!

Man the rear 1/4 on my truck took a serious pounding this year. I don't think I'll be bobing mine but I do think I'll be cutting off the fenders rear soon and getting some straight ones that will atach via Dzus clips. Under them I'll put a rub rail tied into the cage. Just take the fenders off when I wheel. I might even relocate the tail lights into the bumper. I'm tired of replacing them when I get into a tight spot and have to slide the side. I did some bumper uprights like you have Nash and most of the time the have saved the tail lights but a couple times I got hung on them. Even with them there Back side of trail 11 (Guard rail) took out the tail light. Making a set of half doors this winter also.
There are pictures of all the carnage I took in the links in my sig.
Well get us some pictures Nash!

Cool stuff. I was just looking at your site again yesterday. I like the bobbed deal. Won't be lopping off quite as much as you though.

Dblazer---tight idea on the rig. One of these days we'll have to run some trails. Mine will be running by the end of the month, maybe a run to clayton will be in order soon.

i couldnt forget about you lake, youre the one that got me motivated to finish! and the exo-cage idea i got from the d man.

sh*t, almost all my mods came from ck5er's. except the ones that are born from the offroad learning curve.

cant forget about the man i am still trying to catch...the ORD jimmy!
