There is an ad in the paper for a Ramsey 8000 pound electric winch for $300. Is this a good deal? How are these winches compared to the warns? Would 8k be enough for my 91 or 72?

    TIA,
    James

an 8000 will work but it's alil on the small side. i myself would not put anything smaller than a 9500 but thats me /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. but for that price it sounds good, for that price it might be a RE modle, they are slow as sh!t but real strong. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I see Ramsey's low-end 8,000 lb. winch pretty often for $399. Look through some of the ads in the 4WD magazines. But their better winches are priced right up there with Warn.
