    Deals on TSL\'s...WA state preferred

I'm looking to get a brandy new set of 39.5x15x15 TSL's in the next month. I'd prefer to deal with a shop that sells more than a single set every 6 months /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif and has competitive pricing.

For whatever reason, the tire shops up here blow monkey sack when it comes to Swampers, price is way out in left field and they will regularly waste an afternoon trying to balance them (that's what BB's are for...)

Please don't point me at 4WPW...there must be a better place than that (please God...let there be a better place!)

    Northern WA if possible please...

    Anyone??

I just got a price up here, $456 CDN each mounted and balanced (yeah right) works out to just under $300 a tire US. That's before taxes too... "That's the best we can do..."

You may want to think about getting them shipped to someone in Seattle or N. WA from out of state to avoid sales tax there (8%). I know there is a member near the WA/Canada border north of Seattle. Then drive down have them mounted and drive back. Avoid declaring them and paying the Canada taxes /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

4WPW - $260.95 but they will match competitors prices and shipping would be from the PNW or you pick them up and bring them somewhere else to mount.

yeah, after that stupid FET and everything I think my 39.5 TSLs were about $1000-1050. I got em through 4wpw... the pdx one matched a quote by the lynnwood (i think?) store up north.

They have a Les Schwab a few blocks south of the US/Can border, maybe I'll give them a call and check out their prices...

I understand the shops up here won't be selling them at 'magazine price', but jacking the price of the tire $55 US each is a little much to swallow too.

Is Les Schwab usually pretty competitive with their pricing?(For Swampers I mean)

As for the WA state sales tax...it's cheaper to pay that than it is to pay shipping. The only part that sucks is paying the WA state sales tax, then BC provincial sales tax (7.5%) and then our Federal general sales tax (7%).

the sweet thing about Schwabs is, you can put a down payment on the tires, then pay 75 bucks a month, if you want to go that route........

Buy them in Oregon and save the sales tax.........if you can get them up your way relatively cheaply. Try the 4WPW on 82nd in Portland - 503-774-4000 - make sure you tell them you're an Oregon Bushhacker AFTER you get their 'best price'. Might be worth the phone call........... /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Rene, there's a Les Schwab in Lynden & 2 in Bellingham. If you want, I'll call them tomorrow and check prices.

Re: Deals on TSL\'s...WA state preferred

I'm starting to see that with the WA state tax plus FET that the price I'm getting here is competitive.

Average price I've seen linked so far is $260 with FET plus 8% (plus shipping) which is $1040 plus sales tax. Total...$1123 USD. With the exchange that is $1740 CDN ($435 each). Then I still need to pay our sales taxes on that and get them mounted.

Best price I've gotten here is $434 each mounted plus tax...and I don't have to deal with the hassle at the border or pay extra for mounting.

    ***sigh***

Rene, drive down on your bald tires and have the new ones mounted in the USA. Then when you cross the border again they will not know that anything is different if you leave 3 of your old tires down here for the guys needing spares...

Re: Deals on TSL\'s...WA state preferred

There are two things I'm not about to do...and one of them is drive clear through Washington state on the 39.5's on my truck right now/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

The second thing I'm not about to do is try and get new tires back through the border without declaring. I refuse to risk the consequences of being too cheap to pay the tax at the border. Impoundment, fines etc...it ain't worth it.

The WA state tax amounts to $82 or so...certainly not worth the drive to Oregon, and not worth shipping either.

I'll get em here I guess...there isn't any money to be saved doing it otherwise.

    Thanks everyone!

Will they at least pay you for bringing the old ones down here? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
