So, I'm not much for the vocals, but it's fun as hell to play. Can't wait to do a few shows with the band!

Anybody round here listen to Death Metal?

    Sweet. Here's my band's Myspace

Check us out. That's the old bass on the songs, not me. We're looking at re-recording in a few months though. :D

im going to that show too, and lamb of god happens to be one of my favorite bands. I enjoy Cradle of Filth because they are just that weird, Dimmu Burgir has a few good songs, but i love all heavy metal. Trivium and Killswitch would have to be my most favorite of all the new metal

Arch Enemy is probably my favorite band...other than that, I do listen to Cannibal Corpse, Dimmu Borgir and Slayer pretty often.

EDIT: Woah, almost forgot Acid Bath....

we had a kid working for us that was heavy into ultra speedy, death metal stuff...

noone likes a heavy, crunchy riff like me, but man, the screaming, growling vocal stuff on all those bands usual just suck... if they'd keep their mouths shut and it was just guitar, bass and drum i could like it... :wink1:

I guess it is how you look at it...the voice is another instrument. What you cannot overlook is the fact that it is NOT talentless screaming and playing. If you actually take the time to listen to the music, it is not easy to play (know from experience) and how I always like to say, "To each his own"

    don't be offended...

i've always been one of those guys that doesn't pay a hella lot of attention to what the lyrics are saying, but how they sound combined with the other instruments.. i hate peeps who take a bands lyrics as gospel..

and i never said it was talentless... i'm sure the guitar, bass and drum parts are quite technically difficult alot of the time... i spent years defending bands like AC/DC, Sabbath, etc to people who describe it as simple... Sabbath bass lines are so much more technically difficult than people assume...

BUT, imho, the screaming vocal stuff is talentless. its certainly not singing usually... like i said, the tunes and riffs are usually cool, just can't deal with the angry screaming crap...

Best show I ever went to.....Slayer Motorhead Overkill. I hate Overkill, but their singer sucked and they cut the mic feed 2 song into it. 1987, what a year. I miss the days of Venom. Don't listen to it much anymore. I always listen to Lamb of god. My daughter cranks it up all the time. I wonder if it has something to do with me getting her into Slayer and Misfits at an early age.

Triviums unreal, i've seen them twice now. BTW Burn the Priest was Lamb of God's old name 3 cds ago, still good stuff, different sound then they have now though.
