    I say get it. You said for under a grand you could have it almost mint...with only 40K mi, thats pretty awesome IMO. sounds like even if u got tired of it or whatever, you can probably get more than what you put into it IMO.

    I had a baby blue caprice about 15 years ago...
    I bought it wrecked in the rear...37,000 miles...clean as hell...
    It was an old man's car.

    I gave $500....put a 1/4 on it and straightened the frame...
    Drove it for years until the cam went on the 305.

    I'd be careful putting to much $$$$ into any big car...it's just hard to recover.
    $750 may be a little high...unless it has a 350.

    I'd go for it, Caprice's are absolute perfect beater/sleepers, but try to get the price down. Like somebody else said, you probably won't get anything back from it when you're done with it.
