Wow, I am sorry you have had to deal with such a horrible situation. Thank goodness you came out of it alright. I hope you are able to continue driving becuase the world depends a whole lot on the hard work of truckers.

Damn Michael, sorry to here about that. My condolences to the family of the other driver. Sounds to me like there wasn't a thing you could have done. Peace be with you.

Holy crap Michael!!! I'm glad you and your passenger were OK. How badly were you hurt?

I agree nothing can prepare you for a wreck, every wreck I've been in has caught me surprised and generally any reaction I might have is pure instinct.

I am sorry for the man's family, they must be devastated. He made a terrible mistake and paid the ultimate price...nowhere is worth getting to 5 minutes sooner when the risk is death to yourself and others! As a professional I'm sure you know that better than most.

I hope you can get through this without nightmares or blaming yourself somehow, I doubt there was anything anyone could have done.

I'm guessing the truck was a write-off due to the fire?/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

some people are loony like that....but dont let it make you loony too...hate to see a good guy get torn up over something that wasnt his fault..eventually they might find out why he did what he did, but all you can do for now is to try and come to odds with what happened and try to carry on...once again..glad you're still here with us and your partner too..

*maybe* it was a suicide- he didn't want to be remembered as committing suicide, maybe his family has problems and he was depressed and figured his insurance would help. He wanted the the most common way to die at that age. He didn't want to wreck into a tree and risk terrible pain, he figured if he hit a huge rig head on he'd die instantly, and feel nothing. At the same time he figured you'd be ok since you have such a large vehicle. I know people who are depressed, that's how they think. That's just a guess.

Glad to know you are ok, and insured. I can guaranteed it wasn't your fault, God makes various things happen for a reason, and if you had been able to swerve, it may have screwed something else up. You are ok, that's important.

www.webshots.com is pretty painless for free pic hosting.

www.imagestation.com is better but people need to be 'members (it's free) to view the pic's.

I'm disgusted at what insurance doesn't cover...the whole point of insurance is to get you back to where you were before the wreck. Anything less is a failing to meet minimum in my opinion.

Then the insurance companies wonder why they get hit so hard on the personal injury side of things...

    [ QUOTE ]

The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident. They've got concerns if the guy had a past of depression and so do I.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What a load of crap form the CHP. They suck... I have depression so I suppose if I have a wreck it's cuz of that? I hope they don't try to screw you because of that. Consider yourself lucky to have walked away!
