Don't beat you self up too much, $hit happens.
Sorry to here it, maybe you could still use it for rock crawling?
That way you won't need to worry about it....just a thought.
If you have insurance and they total it, you could buy it back from them and get all the parts from it or???
Hope things work out some how.

    Tim;
Crappy deal! (don't have a conversion kit for the 203, huh?)

When I first bought my '67 camaro with a glide, I did the same thing. Tossed her into park, but with the long throw on the colum between D and P, I didn't qwite make it- and off she went.

Tim, I have an '85 short bed frame here in my yard. There is no body or engine, etc. sitting on it. Its bare. Its in damn near perfect condition. Let me know if you want to fix your truck up.

Dude that sucks! Get the insurance to take care of it then get that frame from Wes and you're good to go, with gas money to boot! Depending on the actual damage...

Well guys, I'm back, and I'm really depressed it seems.

Today, I was working on my truck and I locked the front hubs in and put the transfer case in 4wd to keep it from moving. I took the rear driveshaft off and all hell broke loose.
My truck rolled down the hill that is my driveway, a 25% grade, 400 feet or so. It went down an embankment and the rear bumper and reese hitch hit the ground. Obviously it popped out of 4wd.

The frame is SEVERELY bent and twisted and the box is junk too. It's such a shame to see my truck like this. I'm so depressed I don't know what to do.

I'm 17 years old, I've poured every dime I've got into this truck. Every bit of my blood, sweat, and tears were destroyed in a matter of seconds.

The only way to save my truck is to swap frames. I'm going to do it. It's going to take some time. The 4x4 Jamboree is 2 weeks away. I haven't decided if I'm going to enter or not. I don't think I can drive it with this much frame damage.

I'm really having a hard time, guys. Bear with me. I might get another frame. But it's going to be a while.

I know its a bad time to say this, but if you knew you took out the rear driveshaft, a simple blocking of one tire would of prevented this. I had done some work on my k5 once and forgot the tcase was in neutral and she rolled and hit a fence. luckily none of my kids or anyone elses were in its path when it happened. Needless to say I chuck the wheels whenever I do work on any of the drivelline for safety purposes.

I think stuff like this has happened to most of us...Tim just had the misfortune of it rolling farther and faster than most of us.
Mine rolled away on me once...luckily i was able to catch it before any damage occurred.

Tim...if i were you I'd jump on that frame of Wes's and get busy. Thats a mighty generous offer of something you need badly right now. [IMG] Trust me i know how you feel...I felt the same way when i got rear ended at Easter.

    Good luck

I can't believe I'm hearing stories of people under their Blazers while relying completely on the Tcase or Tranny to keep it in place. You're asking for it. Don't get me wrong, I feel real sorry for you and your Blazer, but consider yourself lucky you learned that lesson without it popping your head like a grape as it rolled. Tire chauks are a 2.5 second Blazer/life saver. Once again, my sympathies go out to you.

Details! How did leaving it in 2wd contribute to it rolling? E-brake, tranny in park??

When you throw your car in park on an auto, it locks the tranny. When your only in 2wd, only the rear drive shaft is locked- The front axle is still freewheeling so to speak. Even if you put it into 4wd, if you dont lock your hubs,it aint gonna help either. But thats a lot of frame damage from hitting the hitch.
