I've decided not to build the rear D60 as it will cost too much and will still be weaker than a 14 bolt. So....my question is: If I buy a Detriot locker for an open 14bff, can it be installed in my driveway? Do I need to have the ring and pinion set up again? It would be nice if I could just remove the carrier, unbolt the halves, and slap the Detroit in and put it all back together. Any info is appreciated. Thanks. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Very easy to do and doesn't require the gears to be set up again. Just make sure to mark the location of the adjusters before you turn them out to get the carrier out.

No trouble at all...that's a handy article for plenty of reasons!
