Has anyone had any experience with them? Also who knows who to call for the best price on one for a Chev 12 bolt? I spoke to Trachtech today and realy it sounds like a good choice.

Nice name [IMG]

Had an easy locker with the 38.5x11 boggers. It is actually only recommended for tires 35" and smaller.
We had no issues with it. Liked it . Easy to install and not that expensive

I would do a powertrax Lock-right. Thats what I run, and I have heard they are a better design than the detroit ez locker.

I am doing away with my Lockright in favor of a detroit full on locker...the Lockright just won't hold up to 4.10's and 35's....plus the az. rocks don't help either...hehehe. I installed a new carrier...bearings...hardened pin from power trax...and it still chewed inself up...from the extreme use it bevels the side gears and it will unlock at will while cruising or pop so bad backing up you would swear that you just left your rear end scattered all over the parking lot! Just my .02.

My friend had one in his 12, chewed it up a week later, went to a full detroit after that, another friend has the Loc-rite and has no problems w/ it and he wheels the crap outta that truck, both trucks are on 35" tires.

THe EZ for a 10 and 12 rear are JUNK. Robzilla blew 2 and the second one was a mile after he installed it. BigJbear got about 4 good hard rides before his granded. I hear the Lockright does ok but for about $200 more you can go to a Detroit that you will not have a problem with.

Well maybe you got one of the PRE Lawsuit ones. Seems they were so close to the Lockrights that Lockright sued Truetrack for Pantent infringments and won. I have a Pre lawsuit EZ in my front and it's been fine. I think Robzilla is also running one.
The bad rears has to small of pins that alingn the two halves of the locker. They are also put too close to the edge. The pin has about 1/32 of metal at the thin spot. WHen they get some good load put on them the pin strats to go sideways and it blows through the thing part and if your luck the pin and springs will not get run through the R&P.
I can't belive your is surviving the the meats you run.

I don't have an EZ locker now.It wouldn't last 10 feet. I had it with the 38.5x11 boggers and that was pushing it.

With the 44's I;m running a Detroit Locker in front and a power lock in the rear

I am running the EZ lockers in my rig with a 12 bolt and 44.I have had no problems.I even blew the rear pinion bearings and that ate the gears. The locker didn't show any signs of wear or chips after this. And is still working fine.I am running 36" swampers and wheel hard.I can't complain with them.Blazin

Like Grim said mine let go quickly after putting the 35s on. It worked good with 31s, but after a few trips with the 35s it killed its self. The Lock-Rite is the way to go if you want a drop in. I needed a new case when I regeared so I just got a Detroit (full case).

The powr-loc was originally a dana-spicer unit, and I believe is only available for Dana axles. I have one in my rear Dana 60 was a factory option. With 130K miles it still tested good per the service manual. How about the "Quick Loc" from genuine gear? Seems to be the new drop in locker kid on the block.

If you look at the fine print in some of those ads it says its manufactured by Tractech for genuine gear so its probaly the same as an EZ locker.

Dana/spicer

We had extra plates put in it which makes it pretty much locked full time

Now why would they go and do that. Maybe they were distancing them selves from the first E-Z lockers they sold?
