Ive asked this a few times before and never got a good reply.
What does the voting provide to CK5?
Does Steve get $$$ if he's #1 or is it just for fun?

well the voting sight gets plenty of advertising dollars, thats for sure. Good question though, are they just preying on our competitive nature? /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Personally, I think the main benefit for CK5 is we have the potential to get new users from being at the top. I doubt CK5 gets any direct monies from the site, but indirectly CK5 will benefit from the increased traffic in the form of new advertisers and new memberships. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

And we all benefit from the increased knowledge pool.

I don't know for sure but I would imagine that it helps as a selling tool for Steve to perspective advertisers. I would think the #1 ranking helps justify site popularity and traffic equaling more potential buyers for the advertiser.
