I am looking for a diesel tach. The ones I have seen so far have a sensor on the alt that give a general indication of RPM. Is there a more accurate one out there?

So are the Magnetic pickup ones better than the alt pickup ones? I looked at a autometer in a 6.5 that would have been fine for constant RPM but any differance in speed the tach had about a second or so of lag time before it registered the correct RPM

The one I have is always correct because it records each time the magnets does a lap. The needle is dead stedy at idle, and follows the rpms like if it came on a new toyota camry[shrug] kidding...[IMG]
As long as you clean the mounting surfaces for the magnets to the bare metal, and let the epoxy glue harden for 24 hours it's an easy install.

Sorry! Threw everything away. It was hanging next to all the other gauges at Norway's version of pep boys. It's not a expensive gauge, but the sender had to be bought seperat.

    Glock Girl,
I have a ISSPRO R8503 Magnetic Tachometer on my 6.2 and love it. Very easy to install and high quality. Kennedy Diesel is a top not bunch also good tech support. I highly recommend them.
By the way what kind of Glock Girl are you?

    Dave
