diferences in a gas/diesel auto trans

    what are the differences in the two?im looking at a truck with a bad tranny(700r4),and i want to see what it will take to get it on the road.thanks.

    I have swapped out a few and only changed the torque converter and alll was ok 4 me

    I think there is also something that controls shift points that needs to be changed in the tranny, but not sure.

    You will need to change the govorner . The diesel is a low rpm motor and needs to shift sooner . Torque converter will be just fine . In fact the torque converter is set for higher rpm's and works better . I have a gas transmission in mine now .

    Not to steal your thread but when I called my tranny shop they believed it was possibly just my tourque converter so I could swap on a gas 700r4 converter with no problems?
