    I'm guessing this listing

    [ QUOTE ]
    542018 8 1/2" 10 Bolt All 8 1/2 axles 2.73/up 28 Teeth 1988 & Prior

    [/ QUOTE ]

since I'm running this part number on my blazer with 3.08's that it will go as high as 4.56's? I think I looked up another part number for Auburn and it said up to 4.10 then it listed another LSD for 4.56 up... I just found my Auburn box and ripped the part number off and this is the auburn info for 542018

Also what is the cut off for front difs, 87 10bolt has 3.08's now, will that carrier hold a 4.56 gear?

I think explosed pics are cool to so I'm posting this pic

Gears from 2.73 through 4.56 (and I think higher) will work on the same carrier in a 10 bolt, 8.5". This is true front and rear.

Now if you have 2.73 and below it is definately a different carrier. 2.56 and lower.

    Hope it helps,
    John

I've got 4.56s on my stock front 10B carrier, it came w/ 2.73s. Its good to at least 5.13s.
