    Jeremy,

I thought about this a while back...I think it is a bolt on affair except that most of the 241s came with an electronic speedo setup, as opposed to the mechanical speedo of the 208s...maybe someone on here can tell you if there is a certain year that came with the same mechanical speedo setup as your 208??

    Keith,
I thought the electronic speedo deal did not start until 90. I think if Jeremy could find one out of a Blazer/Suburban prior to 90 it should work. I could be wrong, but I figured I was just cursed with the VSS because mine is a 90 model.

Blazers come with 241s stock? Are their driveshafts and cross members the same as say, an 84 K5 like mine?

Great, then I will be looking for an 89 241 soon! My 87 is the 208, and I think the 241 started in 88, so looks like you could get an 88-89 241 and swap in directly in place of the 208...I'm just waiting for my 208 to die (again, I already rebuilt it)...

I believe they started putting in the electro's i 91 (same year they went from 700r4 to 4L60)... 89 definitely is mechanical, and I believe 90 is also.

well answers that... now only question is whether it is all 90's, or if the changed part way through the year?

That's hard to say. I have the GM service manuals for 90, and the C/K manual shows VSS and electronic speedo, but the R/V, G, and P models book shows mechanical speedo and cable.
    Maybe there are both.

What abaout this though, will an NP241-c work with a 4L60E from a Tahoe? I'm thinking about upgrading to TBI and an electronic transmission, thanks

A question? the trucks past '87 used 241's also, but their front driveshaft is on the left side (IFS), the blazers up to '92 were right hand front drive shaft, they both used the NP241, are these cases different or will they interchange.

I also have a 90 and its an electronic one. From what I've seen all 90's are. I have yet to see otherwise , but usually when I say that I'm proven wrong.
