difference between \"87\" and \"88 and up\" TBI.

Just wondering what difference there is between these two systems. I've noticed a lot of companys products leave out the 87 tbi like superchargers, electronics etc.. Is this done becasue of the body style change or is there an actual engine/electronic difference? what have you guys found?

Its because of the serp. belt setup on the 88 and up. Thats why the superchargers dont work.

Do you mean it wont work because it has it, or it doesnt have it? I remember seeing vortech making a supercharger for the 88+, but nothe 87. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

87's had multiple belts. It's been a long time since I sold mine, but I think it had one serpentine belt, plus a couple of V-belts. It was a rather odd setup.

It just occured to me... Tthose companies might be making stuff for the '88 and newer pickups. The '88 pickups used a different configuration than the K5's and Subs. /forums/images/icons/mad.gif
