I recently got a 1981 K5 Silverado, but the title said it was a K10. What the heck is a K10? The emblem on the side of the vehicle says K5. It looks like a K5. Any ideas?

A K10 is a 1/2 ton pickup. I have no idea why it says that on the title, but don't worry about it or anything, it always says wierd stuff on there.[IMG]

Mine says it's a 2 door suburban, the title on one of my friends from out of state says his is a wagon. I think it just depends on which state it was titled in, they're all different.

Blazers are 1/2 ton trucks thats why it says that. I would rather have it say that than station wagon or something like that.:)

Nomad in disguise! I like that. Nomads were bad ass wagons. Two doors, big motors, big brakes, low gears, and heavy as hell. Yep, sounds like a k5 to me.

My '78 Blazer was titled as station wagon. My '80 Jimmy is titled as an SUV. I can't decide witch is worse. LOL.

My title is also a wagon and my insurance says GMC Blazer. They wouldnt give me truck plates because it is titled as a wagon and passenger vehicle. GRRRR!!!!!!! So next time I think I will get either collector plates or rec vehicle plates.

AGM: How in the world is your Blazer listed as an S10? I think someone screwed up somewhere...might be a good idea to have that fixed if it ever gets stolen or in a wreck...
Imagine: A bad accident and the cops going "Damn...that K5 got hit so bad its now the size of an S10!!!"

I've tried to get it checked on a couple of times, they keep telling me that I'm covered and not to worry aobut it. They say it's the computer program they use that automatically does it. My title from the DMV lists it as a Utility Truck. Right now I don't drive it much right now so I'm not sweating it.

I dunno about your state, but in Michigan, the insurance for station wagons is less than for trucks. There is no "SUV"[IMG] category, so it's one or the other. My family has had 3 Blazers, a 1976, a 1986, and my current 1992, all were 5,000lb, 4x4, V8 big @ss station wagons acording to the state of Michigan. Hehehehehehe....got me cheaper insurance, so why should I care?[IMG]

You'll need to notify your insurance company of that fact. You may have some problems if your involved in an accedent or broken into....
