    Different 203\'s ?

I have 2 203s that I am looking at rebuilding. One is out of a 1976 pickup. The other is SUPPOSED to be out of a 1976 suburban. Well the suburban one has a set of holes the bolts for an extra bracket to go into like my 78. My question is. Are there any internal differences between these two. Is there a way to tell if it has had a part time kit installed? Which one would you recomend I rebuild. I would like to rebuild the original from my 78 however it seems to be missing. :( !

Internally they should all be the same.
To test if it has a part time kit pull the linkage (the one that has the rod that goes into the rear section of the case) thats going into the case at the back foward. That will make sure the case is not in lock.
Take the range selector in the front half and get it in gear. Put your foot on the front output to hold it lightly. Hold the input shaft firm. Try to turn the rear output. If you feel it trying to turn the front drive output as well as the input then it's still full time. If it's part time you will just be fighting the input with the rear output.
Then put your right hand in and shake it all about.
