I'm putting muffles back on my burb, just a little too loud for my taste.
my question is, how far forward should I mount them?
close to the tranny/t case as i can or as far back as I can?

    it's a 89 6.2 with 3" pipes
although it is 2.5" off the manifolds it then flares up to 3" all the way back.

I don't think it matters much but if you put them farther back all the unburnt mix will continue the combustion in the pipe and by the time they get to the mufflers it will be done and you should get a quieter sound. The mufflers close would act like amplifiers to the explosions outside the chamber.
    I think. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
