    DIGITAL DEADWOOD UPDATE
    June 14, 2004
    --------------------
Welcome to the second edition of the Digital Deadwood e-mail newsletter!
We've made quite a few additions to the site since our last newsletter went
out over a month ago, so we thought we'd give you the heads up. As always,
after you check out the new features at www.digitaldeadwood.com, feel free
to reply to this e-mail with your comments. Thanks!

    NEW HOMEPAGE
    --------------------
We've redesigned Digital Deadwood's homepage to be simpler, prettier and,
most importantly, easier to use! If you point your browser to
www.digitaldeadwood.com right now, you'll find a screen with three large
buttons in the middle. Click on the top button to create a new character and
register a new account. Click the center button to log on using the limited
guest account. If you've already got a character, click the bottom button to
go to a log in screen where you can enter your e-mail address and password
to jump right in. You can also use the buttons at the bottom of the screen
to navigate to the MAIN, NEWS, DOWNLOAD, HISTORYLINK & REGISTRATION sections
of the site, which all still have the log in bar on the left side. If you've
got questions, don't hesitate to e-mail us at info@digitaldeadwood.com!

    BANG! NEW FEATURES
    --------------------
The first Quest Game is now in place in its limited form. Walk around town,
find some computer-controlled characters (Calamity Jane or the Saloon #10's
bartender are good places to start), talk to them and pretty soon you'll be
on your way to completing the first quest! You'll need to do a little
digging around town, but Wild Bill will reward you for your work. The final
stage of the quest game is a SHOOT-OUT, which will be up soon! In the
meantime, check out a screenshot of our experiment by visiting the DOWNLOADS
    section or by navigating to
    http://www.digitaldeadwood.com/screens/shoot.jpg.

    THANKS - AGAIN!
    --------------------
Our stress test on May 12 was excellent. A number of you were able to log
on, introduce yourselves, chat a bit and, of course, identify some bugs!
We've been working steadily since then to address these issues, and many of
them have been solved. The chat feature works very well now, and countless
other behind-the-scenes issues have been resolved. The walking routine
remains our biggest bug, but it continues to get better every day! In any
event, a great big thank you to everyone who logged on that day, and thanks
to everyone for continuing to make us successful. There are now almost 1,100
registered users on Digital Deadwood - at this rate, we'll have a bigger
population than Deadwood itself in a couple weeks!
