Which one do you have and what do you like/dislike about it. I'm looking to replace my old point and shoot which has served me faithfully but I want to get back to taking some more artistic photos.

I'm just looking at an entry level Digtal SLR. Gotta pull out all my old photography books and try to remember what all I have forgotten. :-)

So AFTER I post this I decide to do a search and it seems this topic is becoming as common as "will 35's fit under 4" lift without trimming?" Sorry folks. lol

I don't think it's so much the camera as being at the right place at the right time...

This was a just a little 3 meg point and shoot.

I hear them new SLR's are awfully nice, lots of pros are taking them over their old 35mm. Any entry level would work great, I think. Just check on lense availability and price when you pick it up.

Nice. I actually just got back from picking the Nikon up. Didn't ever think I could take so many useless pictures in such a short amount of time. ;-)

Well I'm a cheap bastard and being such I went with the D50. It is more than ample for what I want. :-) I love it so far.

Oh hell yeah! I think I can even get my wife to go along with that! lol
I'd love to pick me up a decent telephoto lens, but some of those dang things are as much as the camera was! lol

I found the thread for your camera, sounds like you got a hell of a deal!

Heck yeah.... Heather's getting ready to stop by and she doesn't know I've got my camera now... fun fun! :)

Mine has a 55mm lens on it, which is good enough. But like you said, lenses are as much as the camera. I still want a telephoto and a fisheye.

And a wide-angle... and filters... and adapters... and external flash.. and and and... :D

I did pick up a UV and polarized filter for mine, though.

So here is one of the many photos I have taken so far. It's amazing how much I don't recall from my early photography days.
