directions for a 700r4 tranny

    i have a leak inside my bell housing area behind the torque
    converter. its running down the sides and collecting at the
    bottom while running. i assume i need to replace the shaft
    seal or the pump seal. hard to tell for sure untill i pull
    it. any special directions i need to replace these seals?
    this tranny is an 87 700r4. thanks

    its the front seal, its just like a wheel seal, same deal, gottapull converter out to do it

    press it in evenly carefully

    what about the pump seal , is that hard to replace ?

    Have a tranny shop check it while it is out... many 700r4's take out the front bushing in the pump as well causing this leak. Just changing the seal will give you the opportunity to do it again.
