O.K. Dawgs here's the latest scoop! I've talked to Gary tonight and Bob Reed. We will need to register and pay our $60 per person soon. This Saturday (3rd of August) BlazinHeart, NoSmog73 and I will be meeting with the Sierra Trek Chairman and the Chairman of registrations. I need to know who is a lock in for helping out on the 10th before this Saturday's meeting.

The trail is not real hard. There are bypasses for any moderately hard stuff. The past chairman ran his crew cab long wheelbase dodge through the trail so it can't be too hard. We will be handing out trail lunches and doing tech inspections before our 6 AM departure. Tech inspections will include checking for a jack, first aid kit, fire ext. and other usual trail gear. I will be able to make the final decision on whether or not a person is disqualified for not havin the proper equipment. If there is anyone wanting to help and not having the proper equipment then PM me.

From Truckee head north on hwy 89 about 13 miles. There will be a sign to turn left towards Weber Lake. Go 10 or 11 miles then left at the sign for meadow lake. Go about 10 miles to the Y in the road. Stay to the left and follow around to the campground.

I still need to repack my passenger side wheel bearings. Oh and install my latest goodies. That will have to wait until Sunday though.

My sister said since there is only going to be a couple of us it should only take a few hours. Now on the 10th, it will be an all day event, since there will be so many rigs.
Now David, those directions you gave are for base camp not the run right /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Yes that is for base camp. We will be passing our staging area for the run on the way to base camp though.

OK, I am really confused now. I thought the run was up past the turn off to base camp on 89 /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Am I lost or is it just me.

Well we are doing the pre run this Saturday & the real run will be on the 10th. It is $60 to volunteer, which you will help out with the actual run that day.
Let GoldRush know if you are game to go.

They are supposed to show us the trail on Saturday. The staging area is: Take 89 north for about 13 miles. At the sign for Weber Lake turn left and the LWB run staging area will be at the "OHV staging area" sign.

Re: Directions to Sierra Trek and more info.

I will have the registration info ready on Sunday. Do you want to volunteer to help out or do you want to be a participant? The Run will be staging at 6 AM on the 10th of August at the staging area outside of Truckee. The cost for volunteers is $60 that covers camping fees, lunch and supper for Thursday through Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. If you are a participant it will cost $95 and that includes lunch and supper for Saturday. If you have any questions PM me with them.

We've already talked about that Dan. If your son isn't feeling well or Mary needs a break then you stay home and take care of them. If not get your but up there. We stage at 0600 on Saturday morning and I'm leaving here around 3PM on Friday.

My wife might be going up to her parents for a few days next week.. They will help her out and give her a break as well as me..So I might be able to go. I am having a problem with Thumper's front end and the T-Case.. But all I have to do to old Blue is fix a oil leak and she will be ready to go.. So I am trying...Dan
