I have an 82 with ESC. Its a 305. A previous owner removed the Stock manifold and the quadrajet with a Weiand High Rise intake and a Holley Four Barrel. It stutters a lot and has poor performance. Yea I know its a 305. It feels like the plugs are not all firing. I put it in park and rev it a couple of times and no hesitation or stuttering.

I have read that the ESC module, if it doesnt get the required 8 to 10 volts from the ecm(?), it thinks that there is spark knock and retards the timing. Any idea?

"If it aint broke don't fix it" is like a 4 letter word.
