    Ok I am going to get an hei, The ? is on the hei should I get one with an adjustible vaccume advance or not.I see some that have the adl and then some without ???? I know this is a dumb ? but what is the ajustable vac good for..

    I got that info from Mike Ervins web site, <a target="_blank" href=http://www.73-87.com/>click</a>
    Lots of good info in there, he is also the 73-87 moderater at Chevytalk.com
    He has a 2 wheel drive rig but it is super clean and has alot of cool mods done to it.

    I don't know how much difference it makes on my stock 305, but when I replaced my distributor my mechanic installed the lighter springs. He's also talked about the mod on the vacuum advance can that is mentioned in that article. Would it be worth it to install one on my truck?

    Just get the adjustable vac advance, its not mcuh more and it gives you more options
