I was measuring some stuff the other night, planning for the Blazer's future, and noticed, for the first time, that the fan is more than 6" away from the radiator. Is this normal? I seem to recall reading somewhere that 1-2" is ideal. Somebody help me out here...

It normally varies by vehicle, I would think that it would be closer myself. However the fan blade should be centered on the end of the fan shroud. Meaning 50% of the blade should be in the fan shroud and the other 50% would be out of the fan shroud. - Steve :)
