Is there a wire going to or coming from an HEI distributor? If so where does it go/come from? Also, if anyone has a wiring diagram for an 86 gas motor that would be great.

Thanks

There is a tan or orange wire that runs to the part of the hei cap that juts outward on the drivers side. That wire goes into the fuseblock. It gives 12 v when the ignition is in the "on" position. There is a three wire plug that runs out of the dist body into the cap itself. If you have a tach..there is another wire ran the same way as the power wire. It is just a signal lead to the tach. From looking striahgt on top of the cap using x-ray vision it looks like this:

---------
H P
H
H T
----------
H=harness this side is cloest to the dist body
p=power wire
t=tach lead

I think that covers it.
