I just converted my 10 bolt over to 8 lug until I get my Dana 60 for the front. I used older caliper supports from a '75 Chevy. The dust shields are spot welded onto these caliper supports and one of them was broken off, so I just took both sides off. Does anybody think this could caues any problem with the rotors rusting or any other problems associated with not running the dust shields?

No, they wont affect anything. As a matter of fact, you are actually IMPROVING one thing on the front axle: you are making it easier to clean around the rotors and knuckles and also, mud cant get trapped in there as easily as they used to. I would have done the same thing.

Definitely the right choice. Mine are coming off as soon as I get around to doing the ball-joints. Easier to clean and keeps the cats from getting stuck in there when ya thump 'em. [IMG]

Thanks guys, I thought I was doing something good but it helps to get a second opinion.
