    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Maybe if we made them all wear Birkenstocks, taught them how to have "positive self-affirmations" and sang Kumbayah it would work?

    Destroying effective policing

Police departments must use race and sex preferences in hiring as a result of federal court consent decrees and political pressures. To meet these demands, many police departments have lowered, and in some cases eliminated, established standards for personal character and intellectual and physical capacity.

Jan Golab writes about this in "How Racial P.C. Corrupted the LAPD" in the May 2005 issue of The American Enterprise. While most of Mr. Golab's article chronicles how Los Angeles damaged its police force in its quest for "diversity," where it's had to fire 100 police officers, identical damage has occurred in other cities. Washington, D.C., had to indict or fire 250 cops; New Orleans indicted more than 100. In these cities, policemen have been charged with crimes ranging from murder and rape to robbing drug dealers and selling confiscated drugs.

Most policemen are honest, dedicated and hard-working people who put their lives on the line to protect us against criminals. A few, Mr. Golab reports, are no less than criminals themselves. In 1997, L.A. policeman David Mack was arrested for the armed robbery of a Bank of America branch in which he heisted $772,000. In the late 1990s, as many as 25 L.A. policemen were believed to have direct gang ties. A significant number of L.A. policemen had off-duty jobs providing security for hoodlums in the rap music industry deeply involved in drugs and gang violence. At least one policeman was arrested as a guard at a cocaine house.

In the wake of L.A.'s Rampart Division scandal, where 30 officers were suspended or fired, former LAPD deputy chief Steve Downing said, "Rampart wasn't about cops who became gangsters. It was about gangsters who became cops." Downing adds that elected officials refuse to acknowledge the obvious: Institutionalized racial preferences "allowed persons of poor character to be hired."

Police departments not only must pass racial diversity muster but sex diversity muster as well. Erica Walter discusses this in a companion article, "Cops and Gender P.C.," in the same issue of American Enterprise. Few male officers measuring 5 to 5-and-a-half feet, weighing 100 to 130 pounds, are hired. Mrs. Walter reports that most female officers come close to that description, and as such, risk being overpowered by big thugs.

There are other male/female differences relevant to police work. The typical man has been exposed to fist fights; he's bloodied and been bloodied. Most male policemen have played contact sports, been exposed to firearms, and are more likely to be experienced and competent at aggressive high-speed driving. Few women policemen have these attributes. Plus, most women couldn't carry a wounded officer to safety.

The difference between male and female officers was recently painfully demonstrated by the slaughter at an Atlanta, Ga., courthouse where a judge and three others were murdered. It turns out that Brian Nichols, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound former football linebacker, awaiting trial for rape, was being guarded and escorted by a 50-something, 5-foot grandmother. Nichols simply overpowered her, taking her pistol, allowing him to go on a deadly rampage.

Mrs. Walter interviewed one LAPD detective who explained, "Most bad guys fall into two categories. Either they show no respect to female cops because they know they can take them, or they fear female cops because they know the women know they can be taken and will shoot quickly." Mrs. Walter concludes her article stating that women are often excellent, and sometimes better than men, in some aspects of policing that don't involve violence and physical confrontation. She warns that police forces should respect the reality that male and female officers are not interchangeable, adding that the real-world effects of pretending otherwise are ugly.

Aren't racial and gender quotas against equal opportunity? The white guy never has a chance, how is that equal opportunity? :angry1:

that is true and has been saud many times in many different ways a close friend of mine who is a Greenville City Police Officer was giving me advice when i first decided i wanted to go into law enforcement. his main advice is to go federal or state (highway patrol) because city and county aren't hiring.... when i asked why he told me they just weren;t with a roll of the eyes but added if i happen to becoe a black female any time soon i could probably be the new chief within 24 hours.

Ten years ago a friend who retired from the L.A. Sheriff's Dept. told me that this PC stuff would lead to the LAPD / LASD having Dept.'s filled with young Black women...he was right. Look, the LAPD was the best Police Dept. in the world, a model, during the period up thru the seventies. It's sad, morale is way down. Officers even get bullied in the press for living outside LA County and working in the city. Heck, at least they show up in "Mordor" to work.

Equal oppertunity and affermitive action are different.

If you have a business that does not have city or government contracts you can hire as equal oppertunity.

If you have a business that is working under government contracts or is a part of city, state, or federal government, you must comply with affermitive action policies, which is a certain %white male,% white female,% minority male, % minority female.

I think all that happy crappy should be thrown out the window. The most qualified person should get the job even if said person is a white male.

I never realized there was a difference.

So because I am a white male it is ok for people to discriminate against me.

Ya know, back in the day when I went through the academy out there in California, we were forced to sit through about 40 hours of cultural diversity training.

Now you would think, that with California being as diverse as it is, this training would consist of how to deal with different cultures. Of course, since it would truly be the liberal way, that's not what it was. The best part was the presentation of "America History X."

Now the instructor for that course happened to be a high ranking (LT) department official from a certain Central Valley department. Think black and white cop cars painted totally opposite from normal black and whites, with black racing stripes. :D

Now this guy was a poster boy for the Aryan Nations. What we heard come from his mouth one day was a ****ing embarassment to this profession. He stated that he was part of the selection committee for possible candidates. Basically he picked who went to the final part of the hiring process which was the chief's interview. He went on to state that his department has certain "goals" on how they want their department to look. He even went further as to state that when they hired, they had a "certain" person they would be looking for. One time it could be a gay, white male or another time it could be a Hispanic female. Now with those goals in mind, he stated that when the candidates got to him, he said there could be something like five people who were qualified for the chief's interview; but if none of them "fit" their goal for that hiring, he would ****can every application. I guess during my academy, their goal was to hire a "white lesbian who could be the body double of a certain male professional wrestler and is also a bumbling dumbass who couldn't find her brain with a GPS" cause that is what they hired out of my class. Now I'm here to tell you if I had the choice of having that female as backup, or getting my ass handed to me by fifty drunks, I'll gladly take the second option.

Now before you liberal types (backcountry, you putz, you reading this?) decide to stereotype me due to the previous rant; I can guarantee you that this white bread from the sticks has more cultural awareness in his little toe than you clowns have put together. I've pretty much made friends with every ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation on this planet. I don't care if my backup is a carpet licking rope sucker from Eastern Asia who listens to rap music. As long as they can do the job the way it's supposed to be done and will throw in with me when I need it, that's all I need.

These idiots and their cultural diversity BS need to shove it where the sun don't shine, then eliminate themselves from the genepool for being so damn stupid.

As a prior police officer in a department with no affirmative action, I must say the idea scares me. Each of our members had to meet very dificult requirments. If they didn't meet them, they didn't get the job. There were blacks, whites, hispanics, etc.... There were women too, but even they were well qualified. One of them was about 5'2" 120 lbs, but I would partner with her just as quickly as any of the other people. In fact, during some training she had to pick me up off the ground and do a fireman carry (lift me and wrap me around her shoulders) and I was at 190 lbs. Granted, she had a hard time, but she got it done. And strangly, when she told a suspect to do something, they listened. She could be scarry. I trusted all of them!!

I don't agree with it. It has the potental to cost lives. That's not worth being PC.

Read, people could still lose out because of the racial percentage being off. That in itself is an indirect racial prejudice. It's not that your qualified for the job more than the other guy, it's because of your color. That's not equal opportunity.

Most of the females I trained were of the class you speak of... worthless in a fight
All most wanted to do was get off training,,,hide in their radio car for 18 mos and then transfer to a desk job never to be seen again... and taking valued assignements for more experienced and tired or injured patrol coppers..
dont forget the use of sex as power... I think alot of females moved around on their back finding a nice captain or above to "assist" them...
Sexual harrassment got many females promoted...I never liked working around them... were there good ones... absolutely... but 5'2" is still 5'2"

As FTO's the department pressured us (never overtly but in little ways) to get females trained and "out" there....
A male deputy would get a blanket party if he didnt perform in a fight... females simply got transferred to a better assignment

you forgot something else we got shoved down our throats.....
    gay sensitivity training

    L.A. ,,,,,, what a sewer

    aHHH...RETIREMENT
