I'm trying to order my disk brake brackets and hoses but I dont know which calipers use which bolt. I'm using the Chevy calipers, not Caddy. So, 10mm or 7/16"?

Acctually, the first two years of the dana 60, 77- mid 78 used A 7/16" banjo, when the 10bolt came in in 78?? they changed to 10mm. I have 7/16 60 calipers in my truck, and they came on my 77 60 front. My father in laws application catalogs, (works for a remanufacturer), lists the different calipers with the only difference being the banjo fitting.

Tough to tell. I order new calipers from NAPA for my 78 K10. One was 10mm and one was 7/16". It took me two full days of trying to figure out WTF was going on. NAPA had no clue either. It could have been an issue of putting the wrong caliper in the wrong box, but both bolted up fine and are still working fine even with different size banjo bolts. I almost retapped one (but didn't want to take the chance) and NAPA wouldn't let me return it as I had already threaded them and put fluid in them. Oh well, that is my luck /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

If your calipers are original (not rebuilt) they should be 10mm. When they are rebuilt they usually re-tap the holes to 7/16. Check the major diameter of your exsting banjo bolts. The 10mm = .394 diameter and the 7/16 = .437 diameter.

AW crap. I ordered my hoses and brackets last night with the 10mm bolts. Can I change it to 7/16"? I haven't bought the calipers or rotors yet so I'm going to get rebuilt ones. Thx

This is not necessarily true either...my calipers on my 74 and 75 D44's are original and they are both 7/16" /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

should just be able to ask for the yr of vehicle of the calipers you are using to get the correct banjo bolts.
