do i have a 2 peice rear main seal

    its a stock 87 with tbi, and need to know if i gotta 2 peice rear main seal for a stroker kit im lookin into, thanks, and what is engine balancing, and how much does it cost to have done? thanks

    Stock 87 engine will have the one piece rear main seal. Its an 86-up phenomenon. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

    engine balancing is the adding or removal of weight from the bottom end rotating assembly (pistons, crankshaft, connecting rods) to balance it all out neutral, talk to whoevers gonna do your machine work.. they can probably help you out there...

    Here is some good recent discussion about balancing.

    I would recommend balancing your engine. IIRC, I paid about $200 to have my 388 balanced. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
