Do the heads matting surface need to be perfectly clean??????

    For some @#$% reason I can still see the outline of the old gaskets and every time I wipe it with thinner more black crap comes off, but the head looks clean. So can I just put the the heads back on and get it done!!! Thanks Mike

    If you can't scrape it with a putty knife then I wouldn't loose sleep over it. Not wanting to cut corners <font color="blue"> I </font color>recommend investing in the relatively cheap "Roloc" or "3M" abrassive wheels and arbor. A couple of minutes in a drill or grinder cleans most surface QUICKLY. They're available at most autoparts or auto paint store.
