I just went in today again. Up to a gallon and a pint (9 donations)! :woot:

Had to leave work a couple hours early because my puss... Uh, I was tired and woozy. :doah: I'll work late tomorrow to be sure to keep my overtime from Monday and Tuesday.

    Anybody else?

I used to, before I got diagnosed with the Hodgekins, and I want to do it again, but the doctors haven't given me the go ahead to start doing it again. I really want to get back into doing it.

I used to donate regularly, but now I can't. For some reason I always manage to pass out :(

Inu- You'd have to be in remission for a few years before they'd even consider letting you donate. My mom's been in remission for 7 or 8 years now and they still won't let her donate.

I don't go in on my own, but whenever I see a donation site setup in town I stop in and let the bloodsucks have their pint of good stuff. Afterwards I like to head straight to the bar and have a pounder of Fat Tire. Its the best cheap drunk in the world. After that I spin around and fall down. Ahhh, I hope there is a blood drive in town this week.

I was curious what a No-Doz would do to me, but then figured there was a remote chance Can Can was in the area on his extended weekend.

I don't want to be a Tweakernator victim.

The site of needles going into the forearm makes me weak in the knees. The feeling of it going into my arm drops me in a split second. I'd rather give blood by having my gut cut open with a rusty butter knife. Strange how some things can make you whoozy. I've seen so many dead bodies I can't count, mutliple fatal accidents, and watched operations take place standing next to the gurney, but needles.............no way................

My mother retired out of a Hospital Lab. She could draw people any time and not have any trouble, but try to draw her & she passes out.

I'd donate blood too, but I've got the same problem with needles... Scare the crap outta me, I can tough needles, but IVs make me pass out every time... I've joked with anethesists, tell them to forget the drug, just stick the IV in me and I'll be out cold...

Strange how phobias work, doesn't hurt at all, but I'm still scared to death of it

I've got type O too, the stuff they really want from us :doah:

Don't look at needle. I hate looking at it when it they stick they needle in, but it is a great cause. I am three more pints away from 4 gallons. I go almost every eight weeks give a week or two.

My ex donated blood once after I slipped out during the motion and hit her poopchute by accident. Whoops! "Whoa! Hello!" was her response along with the trip to the toilet. :doah:  :haha:

I watch them stick the needle in. I'm tough you guys! As long as they don't use rubbing alcohol to clean the site up and instead use iodine I'm fine with it. I acquired a fear of the smell of rubbing alcohol during the Hodgekins chemotherapy and now I get queasy whenever I smell it because it makes me have flashbacks to that.
