A buddy of mine just got a CTD 1Ton 4X4 1997 vintage (very nice truck)

He was talking about putting a moose masher (cow catcher) front bumper like they put on the transports.

Does anyone know of a link for this type of stuff or for Dodge aftermarket?

nor do i care to. when putting down that kind of coin, i expect quality materials. SCH 40 pipe falls into the category of "quality materials" when i'm plumbing gas lines, or air lines. when we're talking truck parts, its never going to end up anywhere near my truck.

Once again if you look at one in real life you would seriously change your mind. Dont put down something that you have never even seen. If it is so horrible then why did almost everyone else that responded to this post suggest that brand?

Learn to count, its 2:D You are entitled to your opinon, i know several people who owns these and would never own anything but that. But the last thing i would ever say about it, is that is made of inferior parts.

Inferior materials? Uh...ok:screwy: Guess those thousands of ranchers that have these things have no idea they are soooo lucky these bumpers haven't fallen apart yet...and out of curiosity...what exactly would you build a custom bumper out of? I-beam?

BTW, "everyone else" is actually 3 people if you read the entire post.

Maybe we should get Can Can to verify how tough this 4" schedule 40 pipe is?

So 4" Schedule 40 with a .237" wall isnt strong enough? Why would so many people have these bumpers if they wouldnt hold up to the tough conditions they see? What do you propose they use to build them instead?

as these two pointed out, its not designed for anything but to trasnport fluids or gasses, and isnt strong enough to take an impact and survive the way tube would.
here's a whole thread on this very topic.
