Just as titled. How does the transfer case shifter knob come off? Does it unthread or is it pressed on or something else? I am going to replace the shifter boot and need to remove the shifter knob first.

I have the 241 transfer case and shifter. Is the shifter the same for 208 and 241?

This is what I use, A Strap wrench to get a good grip on the knob in order to loosen it!

Almost all the t-case levers use a small jam nut to lock the knob in position to where the numbers or words can be visible to the drivers eyes.

You simply tighten the knob and get it where you want to be able to read the symbols on it and then tighten the little jam nut under the knob with a wrench and lock it in place. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
