I love this overhead console from Tuffy (the link is below). It is designed for a Jeep but I think it can be made to fit in a K5. I am going to be installing an interior roll bar so the rear brackets should fit fine. I guess the only problem would be the front. I am sure something can be welded in to make it fit.....

I took measurements and the K5 interior is not too large for the size requirements. Does anyone think this can work???

I was thinking about the same thing, I am a ways away from doing my full cage, but I am sure if you get a little creative you could figure something out. Anything is possible. I would see if you can check one of these out before you actually buy it, but I think it is a great idea. good luck and if you do it let us know how it goes

If Steve is reading posts.....I see that Tuffy is in Colorado. Is this company near your, or for that matter, are any members near Tuffy - their address is:

    25733 ROAD H
    CORTEZ, CO 81321

If so....I'd love for someone to visit them and see if they can get their hands on one of these to see if it will just sit flush against the roof and what the front mounting brackets look like - maybe take digital pics. I have asked Tuffy but they have not been too eager to respond with the closeups of the front mounts.

    Thanks

sure why not that would be great and i would do it. if you are goin ta put in a roll bar i would consider a full cage up front, i know it costs more but ya could run two bars down the middle of the cab and mount it between them. another option is since you have and 86 is to fab some brakets and attach them to ya roof but sounds like you already thuoght of that.

Yea....I've tossed down a few too many at the No Name Pub - great bar!

Fishing is awesome. Wife and I are going our Marlin fishing on the 22nd. We have had a great year so far offshore. Here are some links with some fish I have caught in the past year or so:

I think they have a kit so that you can mount the front to a roll bar. I can't remember why I think that though. I may have seen it in a magazine. But I could find no mention of it at their site. Give them a call, they may just not have it on the web site.

Good things come in small packages. Good things come to those who wait. So, if you're waiting for a small package, that must *really* be sweet.
