just curious as i will be picking mine up in 2 weeks.
what is a gov-bom?
GM's factory govorner atuated locking differential. They have a bad habit of breaking unexpectidly and blowing up the entire carrier. Hence the name gov-bom. The factory name was gov-loc.
Yeah, but primarily in the 10 bolt axles, sheesh, ya label one a "Gov-Bom" and the rest get it as well
so would an M1009 CUCV have the gov-loc?
Probably, I think all of the military trucks had lockers and only the 1 tons had the detroit.
what i was thinking. thanks. also the fronts on the M1009 would be open right?
Do believe that all the M1009's had them, yes. Look for the RPO sticker in the glove box and/or a tag on the rear diff.
Yep front will be open. Check the glove box if you are getting a complete vehicle. If it has a G80 code then it has the gov-loc in the rear.
dont spose ya know wht the gov-loc rpo is do you?
lol last post was before page refreshed
Mine was open front, gov-loc rear 3.08s
