Has anyone else done this before? I accidently over filled my 350 with oil![IMG] I guess when I pulled the dipstick the dipstick tube came partially out and I did'nt notice (damn) so when I left for work there is smoke pouring out of this thing [IMG]. When I pulled over to have a look (when the smoke cleared) there was oil all over the starter but I could'nt see where it was coming from (dipstick tube). Well today I had time for a better look and found the dipstick tube about a half an inch out from where it should be. Of all the stupid things I've done to my poor truck this one beats all. [IMG]
Just thought I'd share! [IMG] [IMG]

I'm guilty of that one too, though I didn't have any mosquito problems for a while.

My Blazer blows soooo much blue, I probably wouldn't notice if the dipstick was out. Definately a good mosquito repellant.

Once my mom asked my dad to put 2 quarts of oil in her van well he walked away without saying anything,So mom thought dad didn't hear her so she put 2 quarts in but dad did hear her and he put 2 quarts in so the van was 2 quarts fuller then it should have been and that thing left a smoke trail 75 feet long on any desent sized hill. But at least it kept people of her rear for a few day's until dad drained out some of the oil.Bad thing about this story well the van blew all but one of it's heads and multiple cracks were found in the block 2 week's later[IMG].

I've heard of the damage it can do to overfill an engine so you can bet I fixed the problem on the double quick [IMG]. I mean I would love to build a 383 for it but I'd like to be able to put some money away for it first.

Rusty I don't think it was the overfilling of the oil that killed the van it was on it's last legs with 150,000 miles,
And 10,000 of those miles from 110,000 to 120,000 were spent driveing 8 hours a day when my family and I traveled around the whole U.S.And after that it really started to act like it was on it's way out.
Man this is a long post[IMG].
