He was one of my favorites, I hated to see this though. Even though it doesnt change my opinion of him. RIP Don/.

A false fact that has been written in several Marine Corps books is that Don Knotts was a Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corps. Don does not know how this rumor got stated. It embarrasses him because; he does not think he could have made it through Marine Corps booth camp. For the record he would like people to know that he did service this country but not with the Marines. When he was 19 he joined the army. This is when he got his start in show business. His duties consisted of entertaining the troops. He was in traveling GI variety shows called "Stars and Gripes."

My favorite part of Christmas is "24hrs of A Christmas Story", all day all night, my wife hates it. My daughter knows the "Queen mother of all curse words" cause of that movie.

Mr Limpet's Gone, loved that as kid. :(

He was a comedic genius and will be missed. Seems like a lot of the television personalities we grew up with are passing away.

Don't forget Heroin and cocaine addiction,Plane crashes,Car accidents,Aids, and just plain untimely death...

Watching "TV Land" and a few other channels last night,I came to the realization that over 70% of the actors on most of the shows they play are DEAD!..lets see now..

    Archie Bunker(Carrol O'Connor) --DEAD
    Micheal Landon--DEAD
    Barney Fife--DEAD
    John Ritter--DEAD
    Fred Sanford (Red Foxx)-- DEAD
    Felix Unger(Tony Randall)--DEAD
    Darrin Mcgavitt--DEAD
    Mr.Brady(Robert Reed) DEAD
    "Coach" on "Cheers"--DEAD

Not to mention John Candy,John Belushi,Johnny Carson,Sam Kinnison, etc.....we've lost a LOT of great talent the past 10 years..:(

Thats just a few off the top of my head!...maybe they should re-name it to the DEAD actors channel...:eek1:

    Yeah..

Bob Hope DID last a long time!---I was always expecting to hear about George Burns passing away long before he did..Milton Berle too..funny how some people live to be 100,even when they smoked stogies and drank a lot for many years..and others croak before they hit 30-40 years old..

Adding a few more names to the list...

    Lucille Ball
    Freddie Prinze
    Jackie Gleason
    Art Carney
    Boss Hogg
    Uncle Jessie (Denver Pyle)

    R.I.P.......:(

    Dennis Weaver just died, too

That would be Sam McCloud, among other roles.
