    How is Donner Pass this time of year does anyone in hear live near it? Im planning on driving from boise to Cali next week. SO how is it this time of year. Are chains needed? /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

    You should carry the chains.. But no snow yet this year..

    It should be clear. There has been pretty much zero percipitation in N.CA so far this fall. If any was to fall between now and then the plow trucks would have it cleared away to keep comerce running since I-80 is important to both Sacramento and Reno.
