For some reason my family feels the need to forward alot of their e-mails to me and I routinely get the one saying not to buy gas a certain date.I personally think that's a bunch of crap.People are either going to buy the day before or the day after the proposed "ban" day.If 1000's of people particapated would it not create a spike in the demand afterwards and drive the prices even higher.Just don't make much sense to me.:dunno:

    Yeah, that's a crock.
What they need to do is tell people not to drive somewhere they normally would have driven on a given day.
But, well all know, that's not gonna happen now is it.

If people want to make an impact, it can be done in one simple step:

DRIVE LESS, AND BUY LESS GAS, ALL YEAR ROUND!!!!!!!!!!:screwy: :screwy:

Yeah, I understand. My work truck uses $300 of gas a WEEK. However, if ALL of us made a concious effort to walk or bike somewhere once or twice a week instead of driving, the collective impact would be sizeable.

we'd use a lot less gas if people didn't feel that they "needed" a Ford Excursion to pick up groceries. Seriously, my wife and I use her little Aveo to do all our errands... saves us a lot of gas money. We've owned it for almost a year, and never filled it up yet. Naturally, if you needed some sheets of drywall or plywood, it wouldn't work... but it can hold a ****-ton of groceries / errand purchases. If you're DD'ing a rig with more than 4 cylinders, you have no room to bitch/moan about gas prices. Ya brought it on yourself. If you need a big hauler for work, that is one thing... but the vast majority of gas guzzlers in this country are just for "fun".

Thats the thing, I hear all these people bitching who have a 10 minute commute and get 20-30mpg... I drive 100+ a day and get 15... I never bitch... It sucks but we have to bend over and take it...:(

The thing I dont understand is the fact that around here diesel prices are always different.I filled both tanks the other day at a local truckstop and the diesel was $2.63 a gallon and reg unleaded was $2.83.Twenty cents cheaper than reg and it is usually that much higher than premium.

Here in town, diesel is like $3.09 and premium is $2.99 while regular is $2.89.

Diesel tend to be more consistent...

Around here it was a steady 2.79 and now around 2.99.

Still alot less fluctuation then gas at 2.59-3.10 for reg in the same amount of time:rolleyes:

Hey amen to that. My day of salvation came when I traded my '05 K2500 for a Cobalt. It almost feels sinful to drive 2 weeks on $25 of gas, and that's a 3 day/week 60 mile round trip commute to school, plus daily driving. Plus the loan payment is about half. :saweet:

My mom whines about her gas mileage in her Yukon. Sorry about her luck I guess, that's what she gets for trying to be a 60 year old suburban soccer mom who lives in the country and has no kids under 23.

I DD my G5 everyday and average about 32mpg in the city. I will use about a tank of gas a month in my truck.

The only time I really use the truck in the summer is for wheelin and camping.

I just drive whatever v8 powered truck I want everyday . If I would of made a few more "good" choices earlier in life , I could probably afford premium instead of 87 .

It's always funny when a older family member gets online for the first time... the chain emails come pouring in!
