    Hey,
I have an unusual question. Has anyone seen door kits for Blazers which are similar to the ones you might see on an old B...B....B... Bronco.. Sorry about bringing up the "F" word with all you GM lovers...
I sometimes see these inserts which are permanently affixed in place of the original doors.. It decreases the door opening by over fifty percent.. and it lets in much more air... Plus it looks really cool... If not, I may try modifying a pair of truck doors (extra welded in braces for support) and see how it looks.. What do you think?

If it's old, loud, fast, and built in America... I love it!

Many, many years ago, I saw a Blazer in Albany, OR with the door things you are talking about. They were fiberglass and I believe they were rivited on. I've never seen another first gen Blazer with them again... You might be able to use old doors as a fiberglass mold.

I might take you up on that offer. I'm from Houston and will eventually move back in a few months. Have you already built a set for your truck?

    BigJon,

Do you have a picture (or link) of the doors that you want?

I don't know that I've ever seen them, but now your comments have me interested!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    BigJon Here...
The picture of the Bronco and fiberglass door openings are exactly what I was talking about...
Unfortunately I am nowhere near Texas but I might still be interested in having a set made... I live within the Washington DC Beltway.... It might be worth shipping a set if there are pictures available??
    Thanks for all the feedback..
    Jon

Those might be fun to build.....!

All I'd need is a set of donor doors, and a few quality hours with my plasma cutter and welder.....and a few strips of thin gauge metal to patch up the holes.....

    Hmmmmm. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

They sure would look a lot more complete than just taking the doors off!

I wanted some summer and trail doors... I kinda liked the second gen tube doors i've seen.... I payed a visit to Greg72's garage, took off my doors and told him how i wanted the tube doors bent and what i had in mind and he made it happen. Then i had to figure out what to do about the latch to keep them closed and mirrors to keep it legal. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
    Heres a couple pictures:
