I have a th400/203 and will be getting a 465/205. I plan on selling the 465 and building a doubler. Are these parts going to work? Also the 203 has a part time kit in it, will this affect anything? Thanks.

The part time kit goes in the rear portion of the 203, and that's the part that you discard for the doubler. Also, the 465 versioned 205 uses a coarse spline shaft, so it is necessary to change it over to a 400 version (32 spline) shaft to be able to be used with the current doubler that ORD puts out. I believe ORD has re-machined 205 cases set up for the 32 spliner, and their doubler.

What do you mean by "re-mechined cases"? Don't you just change the shaft, or is the case different? And is it possible to have a new shaft mechined for the 465 version?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hey Mike,

How are ya doing? What he means is that in order to make the 465 version into a 400 version for the doubler you need to change the input gear, input bearing, and bore the case to fit bigger bearing. Steven at ORD sells the shaft and bearings for $170, and the Case bore is $100 if sent to them. They also throw in a 205 gasket kit in with the bore job. Or you can have it done around here at a machine shop. Hope I helped.

    See Ya,
    Keith
