i ran a search, and couldn't find what i was lookin for, and i also emailed oru and didn't get a response so i thought id try my luck with posting the question...(itll probably have already been answered, but if i knew i wouldn't be posting) on the oru website it doesn't list the 420 as possible trannies to use with the doubler. is it not possible to use it with one? i wanted the super low first gear of the 420 but i didn't see it on the site so i thought id ask before i start looking for a 32 spline 465. thanks for any help anyone can provide

well, if you can attach a 203 to a SM420 (pretty sure you can) you should be able to do it. Might have to do a little work though.

It's ORD, not ORU. The hard part is putting a 420 and a 203 together. As far as I know, It was not a factory combo.

If, and that's a big if, the 420 used the same adapter as a 465 then yes.

SM420 and SM465 are different bolt patterns, similar in appearance, but different.
We're doing a little bit of work on this now for the super compact guys (j**p's , broncos, etc) and it's looking like we'll have a chance of using an adapter from a 420/D300 kit or something similar to make it work. If you're after strength, I'd look to the 32 spline SM465, I don't know what spline counts we're going to have available to go from 420 to 203 but it's looking like we'll use a 23 spline to start.
Difference in low range with 4.56 gears would be 119:1 with the SM465 and 128:1 with the SM420. It's a difference but it's not huge.
