i am going to be in the US in october and i plan to buy a drive shaft with a cv joint.
of course, i will not have my truck with me.

can i go to a shop and just tell them what lift i have and who makes it?
....or would it better to have some measurments with me (what would i measure)?
....also, i know i will have to tilt the rear pinion up a little, where will i be able to get shims for this?

    thanx

Take measurements with you. Look in any 4x4 mag for a Six States Distributers ad,or their web site http://www.sixstates.com they tell you exactly what to measure. On that note you could just order right from them while still overseas. Shims are available at off road stores

The guys at the local drive shaft place here in town told me to measure from middle of u-joint to middle of u-joint.
