When I did the drum brakes on my 88 jimmy about month or more ago, the shoes didnt touch at the top where they are supposed to meet on that center pin. So I hsve been messing with them ever since. I have come to the conclusion that it has to do with the e- brake line being stuck and holding the shoes out too far. I tried removing the parking brake/equalizer bar and driving it like that casue with that removed they will touch at the top, and i never use the e-brake becasue it sticks, but it still makes noises with the bar out. the brakes will squeak, pop, clack and so on,with or without the bar. Does anyone have any tips?

My 87 was doing something like that. I just replaced the wheel cylinders and bled the lines real good, no problems yet.
