What brand name is your set, and it looks like all the shells are made of metal! Besides mine being a Pearl, it's one of their Forum kits, with the low-cost mahogany shells.

If I were to mic my drumset meanwhile, I'd try to use an ambient mike setup in an effort to duplicate Bonzo's sound. Think I've already got the tuning part of his sound down.

Believe it or not, drum kits back in the 60's and 70's were mostly mahogany. That was considered the best wood for a while. So the kit you have and that I have are made out of the same wood used for the quality kits back in the day.

Nice kit, brother!!!! I play a 5 piece, but if I ever expanded I would go to a rack setup like yours. Way more versatile....

Sabian, Zildjian, whatever. I don't even look at brand names when I choose a cymbal. Of course, I don't have a dozen like you do........:eek1:

You know, for some reason I really like playing open toms. I've tried both ways, and go back to open every time. On stage a little more resonance can be a good thing. But you already know that, don't you???:wink1: :thumb:

Yeah, sounds better when they have a mic to them....especially when you're running through 8 15" subs... :eek1:

Mine are a mix....Zildjian #1, Sabian #2, Paiste #3 Started as a 5 piece but bought the bottom tom about a month after the kit. I like 6 pieces, much more you can do with tom work. Don't think I'd want another one, though.

Why not clean the dust off it? Like the mounting system it uses for the toms, and what do you use to keep the cymbals looking so good?

Just now tried to get a better cockpit pic to show y'all how I don't have any muffling material in my kickdrum at all except for the batter head's integrated muffling ring, but the pencam wouldn't let me because of the lighting.
