I parked next to a K5 this morning which was equipped with a dual CV driveshaft (CV on both ends of the shaft). I managed to catch the guy and ask him a bit about it. They were 1330 CV's and added as a final vibration killing measure. Apperently he had a nasty time with his 8" suspension lift getting the vibes to go away once he geared the rear end, even with a CV at one end. The second CV killed it permanently. He's had it for about 6 months now and beat on it a few weekends worth but said he hasn't been overly abusive on it enough to form anything but a good opinion as far as streangth. He did say it doesn't vibrate at all at any speed, anymore. I hadn't seen this anywhere before so I thought I post it and see what kind of response comes back.

With dual cv's whers the slip yoke and where did you get the cv to bolt to your rear end yoke?

He had a slip yolk conversion on the tcase. The rear end pinion was unchanged with 2nd ujoint ubolted to the yolk to finish the CV. I think if I were ever to run something like this, I would only do it to a high pinion rear end.
