I finally plumbed both tanks on my k20 to the aftermarket selector valve and got it all working.
I'm trying to figure out how the fuel sending unit is wired (for the gas guage) on a dual-tank truck. Does the factory selector has a 2 wire in, 1 wire out hookup soi when it switched tanks it also switches which sending unit wire is hooked up? Or what?
I currently have both sending unit wires just hanging down, waiting for me to do something with them.

My book shows a Pink/White wire for the Production(left) tank.....Pink/Black for the Aux(right tank). Both of these wires connect to the factory "Selector valve and Meter switch"....not to the actual in dash switch. Then a solid Pink wire goes to the gauge.

Sorry, I cant be any help with the wiring, but do you know where I can find the brackets for the dual tanks on my 86 K10
? I dont know if it matters, but they are the 16 gallon not the 20 gallon.

What brackets are you talking about?
The tanks mount to the frame with the same brackets on the left as on the right.

I need the "L" looking brackets that the tanks sit on. I had a rusted tank and when I went to change it I cut the straps and the bracket basically fell apart it was so rusted. I want to bifd all 4 (2 per side) before i try taking the driverside tank off. LMC and JC Whitney niether one lists these.

Wow, I've seen some rusted tanks before (mine included) but I've never seen the L bracket rust so bad that it fell apart!
Why not grab a set from the junkyard and clean and paint them?
I've also not seen those for sale new.
What JCW and LMC et al list is just the straps that connect to the L bracket, so you still need the bracket.
    Good luck.

I was gonna do just that, but didnt want to have to worry about the breackets already being rusted. I thought this was probably a common problem. Ill see what i can find. Thanks
