 I was driving down the interstate today and had a late 80's dually burb pass me!! What the hell? Is this something that the factory put out very few of or is this a kit some one has put on with some fenders and wheel spacers? I wish I had my camara at the time, It didnt look to bad eather.

I have a neighbor who's grandma and grandpa drive a black burb that's been converted to dually status. They just parted out junker trucks for the fender flares and axle. It looks pretty clean though.

I was considering this for my tow burb.

There is one company I have found that makes the fenders. They are different than the truck dually fenders.

As for axles. Just find a Dually Chevy and swap the axles.

If you have a 2wd, then swap the front adapters. I think that you may have to swap the front all the way back to the a-arms, but I would have to do more investigation into that one.

Dually burb were an aftermarket conversion that you could have a company do for you. Sort of like the van company aftermarket places. There was even a company back then that took a standard burb and made it an 8 door per side limo/airport transportation rig/etc

    Not factory; definitely aftermarket.

Another option is to put a C&C axle in and tub the rear wheel wells ... might have to lose the third seat if so equipped or switch to a Jeep seat or something. Somebody here knows somebody who's done this.

There is a thread on here somewhere with pics of those 8 door burbans. I kid you not, if I find one I will but it, dually it, trick it out in 2WD fashion and make it my tow rig.

Not all at the same time of course, but that would be a great project. I was thinking two long sliding rag tops, all power options, and airbag suspension.

    That would be excellent.

Choo-Choo customs made them in the 70's. Kinda like modern day conversion vans. There was another company who made a conversion kit also. Have pics of both on my puter. A guy back east just bought a 77 choo-choo custom 1 ton 2wd burb in a bone yard last week...

Not to change the subject but I will go get some pics tomarow if I remember of a truck here in town. Its a 4 door but the bed on it looks diffrent. The talegate is sloped in towards the cab alittle bit. Its a good looking truck. I think he had two of them but sold one. I want to buy this one if it ever goes up for sale for the wife and kids.
