When parking on a big hill, w/ an auto, is it bad on the trany? I know am sure it is not, but when you got from park to F or R there is loud CLANK. That can not be that good on the trany? Can it? Would it be better to leave it in N with the E Break?

shouldn't be a problem... and no, I wouldnt recommend leaving the tranny in N and just using the p-brake. Not on a steep hill anyway,

It's best to put on the parking brake and then put it in park. Then put it into gear before releasing the parking brake.

Yes,While you still have the brake on,set the E-brake(nice and tight!),then put it in park.I've seen a few park gears go out because of not doing this, also seen people throw it in park before they come to a full stop....OOCH!!!
